WEBINAR: Deep Work: Art, Science, or Both? With Dr. Maryrose Blank

Greetings!

Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors and Mental Performance Coach, Maryrose Blank, Psy.D., M.Ed., CMPC, invite you to a wellness workshop “Deep Work”. Join us to learn simple tactics to integrate into your schedule that will decrease fragmented attention, increase productivity, and build cognitive ability.
Wellness Webinar
Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM EDT
We have all had those days where we have risen early to cram more stuff into our already busy day, only to find that at the end of the day, we may have done a lot of “things” but nothing with any sort of depth. Now more than ever, it becomes easier with technology to move away from producing meaningful output, to doing several things simultaneously at a sub-optimal level. This type of ‘always on’ expectation with relentless distractions has produced a 24/7 availability status that minimizes boundaries, increases stress, and limits the quality of our products.

Author, Cal Newport coined the term ‘deep work’, which he defines as, “professional activities performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that push your cognitive capabilities to their limits.”

In this webinar, Dr. Blank will explore this concept of Deep Work and discuss:
  • The key differences between deep and shallow work, and how deep work leads to quality outcomes
  • Newport’s four rules for structuring deep work around your daily workflow
  • How to leverage the Ultradian 90:20 Cycle to mirror a healthy, optimal day that addresses purposeful focused work, followed by periods of rest and recovery
  • How to cultivate a team culture that prioritizes depth of focus and limits distractions
  • The ROI of deep work accountability in the workplace, and how to incorporate this best practice into your team dynamic or personal routine
