What’s Happening At BWFA

Free Life Skills Training For Young Adults

Baltimore-Washington Financial Advisors recently partnered with Matt Morehead to offer the “BucketHead” Program. The “BucketHead” Program provides life skills development and financial coaching for young adults in our community.

BWFA learned about this program in 2011, and Matt has already presented two “High Five” Life Skills Retreats on our behalf. Each retreat was well-attended, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, which convinced us that this information deserves a much wider audience.

Registration for the “BucketHead” program is free; just visit www.learnthebucketplan.com and use the access code BWFA. By signing up to become a “BucketHead,” you get access to these valuable features (without a hidden sales agenda):

  • Monthly “BucketHead” bulletins,
  • In-person and online educational and social events, and
  • Unbiased and objective help when you need it.

We are confident you will like what you see, and we hope you will encourage your friends to become “BucketHeads,” too. After all, everyone could use a little help when starting down the road to financial success.

BWFA Welcomes Joseph Caputo

BWFA welcomes Joseph Caputo as Chief of Information Services and Associate Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining BWFA, Joseph had obtained almost 10 years of financial services and industry experience with notable firms such as T.Rowe Price and Wells Fargo Advisors.

Wings of Hope Golf Tournament

On September 14, BWFA was a proud sponsor of the 3rd Annual Wings of Hope Golf Tournament held at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, MD. BWFA was introduced to Wings of Hope by our staff member, Sue Kelley. Sue’s family started the golf tournament to honor a loved one taken too soon by cancer. Proceeds raised at the event were distributed to the Make A Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. To learn more, please visit, www.wingsofhopemd.com.

Our Intern Program

Our Intern Program supports higher education in the area and helps BWFA identify and train potential junior staff members. We are pleased to have recently added Richard (Ricky) Nguyen through our internship outreach. Ricky is a student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and he will be working about 20 hours per week for us.

Save the Date

Join us November 14th from 7-9 p.m. for our featured seminar at Parsons Auditorium at the Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel. This seminar will feature a panel of BWFA clients who have retired from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and Baltimore Aircoil. They will field questions from the audience about their personal experiences in retirement. Visitwww.bwfa.com/seminar to register.
