Bob Cassel founded his own tax preparation and accounting practice in 1983. As a tax professional he has prepared hundreds of tax returns and consulted with dozens of business owners. In 1993, he received his certification as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and began working with clients in the capacity of personal financial advisor. In 1998 he received the Enrolled Agent certification, as an expert in income tax.
Bob administers the tax planning and preparation functions at BWFA. In addition to overseeing preparation of tax returns, Bob also provides planning advice to clients faced with decisions having important tax implications, such as large charitable giving, stock options, or choice of business entity. His specialty makes a major contribution to the peace of mind of our clients and is vital to our continued success.
From 1980 until 1996, Bob was a member of the US Marine Band in Washington DC. He earned degrees in the music profession including a bachelor's in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Doctorate of Music Arts from Catholic University located in Washington, D.C.
Bob and his wife Barbara live in Severn, Maryland. They enjoy theater, professional soccer, and travel.
