Our mission at BWFA is to tailor and manage investment portfolios which best suit our clients' needs. Generally, these needs fall into three rather simple categories: growth investments for our younger clients, conservative growth and income investments for our clients who are nearing retirement, and income producing investments for our clients who are in retirement and need income from investments to support their lifestyles. We select investments which are appropriate, monitor their ability to meet our growth and/or income objectives and make changes when appropriate.

The previous explanation, in some ways, is too simplified. There are many factors other than age that influence how we construct and manage a portfolio for our clients: including "comfort level" (perception of risk), specific financial objectives, tax situations, characteristics of markets, interest rates, the price of the dollar, current and expected conditions that affect financial markets and client income needs. Our job is to evaluate these issues in light of client circumstances and objectives and select the most appropriate investments. So, why should someone choose BWFA's services over others?

There are many reasons, but three are sufficient:

  1. No one else does what we do . . . integrate financial planning, tax planning and investments into one process.

  2. There are no conflicts of interest at BWFA. There are many barriers - biases and self-serving interests - working against the financial interests of clients in most commission-oriented companies. We have constructed our business to remove these barriers and conflicts.

  3. We are always available to our clients, we care and take a lot of pride in what we do.
