Robert Wasilewski, MA

Robert Wasilewski received an M.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1980. At the University Maryland, Robert achieved admittance as a candidate for the PhD specializing in the fields of econometrics and monetary economics.

He began his investment career with United Mine Workers of America’s Health and Retirement Funds where he managed an $800 million cash portfolio as well as a mortgage-backed securities portfolio. He spent two years at Union Labor Life Insurance Company as a senior portfolio manager and was recruited to join ASB Capital Management in Washington D.C. where he became a managing director and head of the fixed income department. He has spoken at national conferences on utilizing mortgage backed securities as a sector for producing exceptional performance in the fixed income markets.

Robert has been an adjunct instructor at Howard Community College in Columbia Maryland for 6 years, teaching Principles of Micro and Macro Economics as well as an online course in Money and Banking.

He is a frequent guest on the "Down to Business" program hosted by Michael Mobley on the local cable network, and a contributor to Biz Monthly.

He has lived with his wife Julie and 3 children in Howard County since 1980. On summer nights in Howard County you are likely to find Robert umpiring baseball games for the Western Howard County Youth Baseball League. In addition to sports, Robert has a strong interest in utilizing technology based games to enhance education and increasing financial literacy among high school students.
